MEGHAN Markle became a Duchess after marrying Prince Harry earlier this year, but it was not the first time the American actress has been married.
She has already wed once before — here’s the story of her previous marriage and when she got divorced.
Has Meghan Markle been married before?
The royal wedding was not the first time Meghan has said, “I do”.
She was married to film producer Trevor Engelson who is most famous for the 9/11 romance movie Remember Me, starring Robert Pattinson.
He met the stunning actress back in 2004 and the pair began dating.
After being together for six years, they got engaged in 2010 and tied the knot on 10 September 2011 when she was 30 years old, at the Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
The wedding was a four-day affair and pictures have since shown drinking games on the beach in the run up to the big day.
The ceremony took place in front of 102 guests.
When did Meghan Markle divorce her husband?
Meghan and Trevor separated just two years after their wedding and were divorced in August 2013, citing “irreconcilable differences”.
A source claimed to Woman’s Day magazine that Meghan’s role as Rachel Zane on hit TV show Suits was to blame.
The insider said: “Meghan landed her role in Suits just a few months before they married.
“And despite being together for six years before getting hitched, things started to fall apart not long after the wedding.”
However, in a new book by biographer Andrew Morton it is suggested Meghan split with Trevor “out of the blue.”
In Meghan, A Hollywood Princess, it is suggested the split came as a shock to Trevor and that Meghan posted her wedding and engagement rings back to him as a sign the marriage was over.
Morton writes: “Whether she wanted to admit it to herself or not, Meghan, who once said she couldn’t imagine life without Trevor by her side, was now building a new world for herself.
“As Toronto was becoming more her home than LA, the dynamics in their relationship subtly altered.
“She was her own woman now, earning a steady income, making new friends on set and off, no longer dependent on her husband’s connections.”
Who else has Meghan Markle dated?
Canadian chef Cory Vitiello is said to have dated Meghan Markle between 2014 and 2016.
Cory is based in Toronto, which is where legal comedy-drama Suits is filmed.
The pair split in May 2016 – with the Telegraph reporting that Meghan was still with Cory when she first met Harry as the Prince visited Canada to promote Invictus games in May 2016.
It reported the chef refused to comment on the rumours while a friend stated to the paper: “I can’t comment on that” when asked if the Prince was part of the reason their relationship ended.

Cory and Meghan did not speak about their relationship in public, but he referred to her as “my lady” in a tweet in March 2016.
He wrote: “So proud of my lady Meghan Markle being named Ambassador for World Vision.”
There have also been rumours of Irish golfer Rory McIlroy and Meghan having a fling following her divorce.
Rory helped Meghan film the Ice Bucket Challenge in August 2014, and they were later spotted having a meal in a restaurant in Dublin.
However neither confirmed the romance, so it is likely they were just friends.
