St. Lucie police booked 31-year-old Kathrine Graham at the county jail in late December for an armed robbery charge

Florida police say that it took several X-rays and a visit to a local hospital to determine that a newly booked woman had housed a meth pipe inside her groin.

St. Lucie police booked 31-year-old Kathrine Graham at the county jail in late December for an armed robbery charge.

The Fort Pierce resident claimed that she didn't have any contraband on her at the time of the arrest, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Treasure Coast Newspapers. 

But as she underwent a X-ray scan, personnel at the jail noted that there was a 'small object' in her pelvic area. 

They then gave Graham a change of clothes and had her conduct another X-ray scan, but 'the same object was visible on the X-ray.'

Officers took the woman to the Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute, located approximately five miles from the jail, and had Graham undergo additional X-rays. 

The woman agreed to a body cavity search and doctors were able to remove 'a small glass smoking pipe, commonly used for smoking crack or other illegal drugs.' 

It is currently unknown how the pipe wound up in that location. 

Graham was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and introduction of contraband into a detention facility.
