The people were spotted in the Newquay area on Sunday morning and some children were even seen climbing around the cliffs.
“We and others often post about the dangers of cliff edges, they can be unstable and slippery,” a Newquay Coastguard spokesman said.
“Around the coast almost every day Coastguard Rescue teams deal with casualties who have fallen from the cliffs.
Kids were also seen climbing around the rocks days after a landslide[/caption]
“A photo shows a number of people and children not only close but also climbing on them. We investigated a cliff collapse very close to here a few days ago!
“It is a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt or killed.
“Please act responsibly and stay clear of cliff edges.”
Coastguards from Newquay were called to Crantock beach on Boxing Day where they discovered that rocks had fallen on a small section at the rear of the popular beach.
Newquay is a popular destination among walkers due to the breathtaking coastal views[/caption]
After investigating the fall and judging there was little further danger to the public, the team was stood down.
“Please take care near cliffs, falls can happen any time,” the team added.
“For any coastal emergency dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
About a month ago a large chunk of cliff fell into the sea near Portreath.
