CHELSEA are holding up Michy Batshuayi’s loan move to Monaco and want a permanent deal for the Belgian striker.
The Ligue 1 side have an agreement in place with Valencia – where the 25-year-old has been during the first half of the season.
But the Blues are currently unwilling to sanction the move and want the principality club to shell out a fee for the player, who they signed for £33million from Marseille in 2016.
Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev said: “We have an agreement with the player and with Valencia, but for the moment things are blocked with Chelsea.
“They are more interested in doing a transfer (than a loan) for the moment.
“Everything can go quickly in football but for the moment it is blocked.

Lyle Foster, Naldo, Fode Ballo-Toure and Cesc Fabregas have arrived at the Stade Louis II during the winter window and the club are happy if no further recruits are made
Vasilyev added: “We are already very happy with our January transfer window.
“An attacker would help us, but for the moment we are not there.
“We are not going to do crazy things, we will see if there could be a very nice opportunity.”
If Batshuayi does complete the switch it will be his third loan move in two seasons.
In 53 appearances, the Belgium international has scored 19 goals for Chelsea but has tumbled down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
He spent the second half of the 2017-18 campaign at Borussia Dortmund, netting nine times in 14 outings but has been overlooked for a first team role by manager Maurizio Sarri.
Uncertainty over Batshuayi’s future comes as Chelsea prepare to shuffle their attacking options.
Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain is braced to join on loan for the rest of the season, with a view to a permanent move, from Juventus.
The 31-year-old has spent the first half of the campaign with AC Milan where he has netted eight goals in all competitions.
Higuain’s move is likely to trigger the departure of Alvaro Morata, who is set to re-join Atletico Madrid.
Morata began his career with Atletico as a 13-year-old but has since represented city rivals Real Madrid.
