COPS are today probing chilling threats to staff at an office where a woman was bound and bagged.
A photograph of fisheries officer DeeAnn Fitzpatrick, 49, taped to a chair went viral and was used as crucial evidence in an employment tribunal.
Whistleblower DeeAnn claimed two male workers gagged her before telling her: “This is what you get when you speak out against the boys.”
She is currently on leave after accusing her colleagues of bullying and harassing her over a 10-year period at Marine Scotland’s office in Scrabster.
The fisheries worker alleged that she was tied to a chair in a bid to scare her off from complaining about colleagues.
She claimed she was targeted as a warning after complaining of racist and misogynistic culture at the office.
The Canadian national also claimed she was mocked over a miscarriage and was the victim of threatening behaviour and racist language at the body’s Scrabster office in Caithness.
But DeeAnn lost the tribunal after the 2010 picture because it happened more than three years before the complaint was made.
And it has now emerged that police are investigating a threatening email which was sent to staff at the same base, reports the Daily Record.
A police spokesman said: “We can confirm that we have received a report of a threatening message sent to Marine Scotland.

“The report was made on Tuesday, November 13 and inquiries into the message are ongoing.”
Speaking about the photograph, Rhoda Grant, Labour MSP, who supported the Canadian national, said: “It’s horrific. I’m kind of speechless.”
DeeAnn’s sister-in-law Sherry Fitzpatrick said: “We were horrified. We were sickened. We worry about what this has done to her.”
