New photo Sydney courthouse in lockdown as cops and police dogs swarm the building

A Sydney courthouse is in lockdown with cops and police dogs swarming the building. 

The Parramatta Court House complex, in the city's west, was placed into lockdown about 2pm on Tuesday.

Both the Local Court and District Court are located within the George Street complex. 

A NSW Police spokesperson confirmed to Daily Mail Australia 'a police operation is currently underway on George Street'.  

There are reports a 'security threat' is behind the lockdown. 

The Riot Squad is also at the scene.
