New photo Stunning aerial photographs show autumn leaves turning from green to red

It doesn't seem long since we were basking in sunshine during the gloriously hot summer, but now winter is well and truly on its way.

Temperatures are set to hit 0C (32F) this weekend due to a blast of Arctic air. The cold snap could see swathes of northern England wake up to widespread frosts tomorrow and on Sunday as overnight temperatures plummet.

And these stunning photographs taken in the Devon village of Buckland Monachorum show how the seasons are changing from above, with the trees in a ten-acre garden boasting rich reds, deep oranges and glittering gold.

While the South will experience a sunny day with temperatures of up to 22C (72C) today, it will be battered with heavy rain and strong winds tomorrow and experience overnight temperatures of just 2C (36F).

The grim weather will continue into next week as remnants of Hurricane Leslie, which is currently battering the southern United States with 80mph winds, sweep into Britain.

The hurricane is moving into the Atlantic Ocean and is not expected to travel towards Britain. But forecasters have warned that the tropical air will be picked up in jet streams.

This will bring a spell of low pressure that could see Western areas of the UK lashed with torrential rain and strong gusts towards the end of next week.

Met Office forecaster Simon Keates said: 'People need to start wrapping up warm as we're entering a spell of chilly weather that is fairly typical of this time of year.

'Friday will be quite a damp day in central and northern Britain, with rain and some fog. In the South it will be warm but people need to make the most of the sunshine while it lasts.

Saturday will be the worst day. It will rain a lot all over England and will feel very cold and grim

Simon Keates, Met Office forecaster

The weekend is a story of two halves. Saturday will be the worst day. It will rain a lot all over England and will feel very cold and grim.

'Parts of northern England will wake up to frost and fog in the mornings. On Sunday the bad weather will mostly clear away and it will be cold with sunny spells.'

Mr Keates added: 'Hurricane Leslie is currently loitering about in the central Atlantic. It won't pass over the UK or cause any issues in the short term but it might get drawn into a low pressure system which would bring heavy rain to the UK.'

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
