But Kyle Sandilands was reminiscing about the days his good pal Brian McFadden was engaged to Australian songstress Delta Goodrem during his radio show on Tuesday. 

The KIIS FM host shocked his listeners when he claimed the couple would play an 'intimate' game when they were in love.

Kyle alleged that the formerly-engaged pair would spit into each other's mouths for fun. 

The tale came after Kyle played a song by the duo, recalling: 'I remember when I’d have them around my house and they were in love and sometimes would spit in each other’s mouth.'

While a shocked Jackie questioned 'why', Kyle replied: 'Fun, they said fun. I always thought, "Wow! That’s weird".'

Delta and Brian announced their engagement in 2007, but split four years later in 2011.

The former Westlife member and Aussie songstress issued a joint statement at the time, saying the decision to break up was mutual and amicable.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Delta and Brian for comment.

Brian and Delta met in 2004 when he asked her to duet with him on the song, Almost Here.

At the time Brian was still married to reality TV star Kerry Katona, the mother of his two children, although they had separated and the song was about their break up.

Brian married the Dancing On Ice contestant in January 2002, but the couple announced their split in September 2004, and their divorce was finalised in December 2006.

Brian and Kerry have two children together, 17-year-old Molly and 15-year-old Lilly-Sue. 

Brian went on to remarry, but his marriage to Irish model and radio presenter Vogue Williams ended in 2017 after five years together.
