THE CENTRAL Line is currently shut as a result of a major staff strike.
As many as 800,000 passengers could be affected. Here’s the latest on the industrial action and how long it will last.

What are the dates of the strike and how long will it last?
Drivers went on strike on Friday, October 5, just after midnight, bringing the line to a standstill for 24 hours.
They will walk out from midnight until 11.59pm.
There will also be no Night Tube service as drivers are required to start their shifts at 10pm.
A second strike by drivers is planned for November 7.
Train drivers’ union Aslef said the vote was by more that 9:1 for action.
Why are the drivers striking?
Drivers who are members of the Aslef union have threatened to bring the line to a standstill.
Union leaders say this is due to a “breakdown of industrial relations” in a long-running dispute with the London Underground (LU).
They say Tube bosses have imposed “unsafe” working practices.
Aslef’s organiser Finn Brennan said: “We have, reluctantly, decided this is our only course of action.”

Mr Brennan points to a number of issues that have led to the strike, including harsh and unfair use of disciplinary procedures and failures of the management to listen to workers’ concerns.
London Underground’s Nigel Holness said the strike action will also see the Waterloo and City Line closed for the entire day.
He said: “We are meeting with Aslef leadership to try to work with them to avoid this strike action.”
However despite last-minute talks aimed at cancelling the strikes on Thursday, they still went ahead as planned.
