New photo Australian fitness model trying to break into the world of female professional wrestling

Before she was crowned a world fitness model champion, Australian Instagram model Hattie Boydle had dreams of making the big time as a professional wrestler.

She travelled from her home in Bondi, in Sydney's east, to the United States to compete for a spot in the WWE, the largest wrestling promotion in the world.

Ms Boydle said she was determined to succeed pursuing her childhood dream.

She'd spent her childhood watching pay-per-view fights with her siblings, and had ambitions of becoming the next successful female wrestler.

Those ambitions were pushed to their limit on the first day of auditions, where Ms Boydle was called into the ring first, ahead of every other hopeful in the waiting room.

As she made her way down the ramp at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, and into the ring, she was booed and jeered to no avail.

'I walked out on stage and I didn't really do anything. And I got booed by the crowd, like full on booed. They had no idea who I was and obviously I wasn't entertaining to them. It was so frightening,' she told 9News

Once she was on the stage, she was subject to forty minutes of grueling tests and wrestling drills, but her fitness held out, and despite her nerves, she was invited back for a call back the very next day.

'It was like a fitness test in front of the crowd, but they were also looking at your character.'

The industry is known for its big personalities, with fights being just as dependent in the entertainment value and character of those in the ring.

But the process had taken its toll on her body. She finally realised how 'brutal' the sport could be.

With more of an understanding of the vibe of the crowd, Ms Boydle was prepared to bring her A-game on day two.

'I walked out, I put my hands out, I swung my hair around and I got this massive cheer from the crowd. I ran down and slapped everyone's hands. It was so nerve-wracking but it was the best thing I ever did.'

While she never quite cracked the professional scene at the 2016 audition, the experience was one she'd never take back.

She said she'd loved movement and training her entire life, and had always been competitive.

As an ex-gymnast, who trained at the Australian Institute of Sport and at a national level, the itch to compete was still there, even after deciding not to pursue a career in wrestling.

To achieve her kick-ass figure, Hayden – who plays cheerleader Claire Bennet in Heroes – follows the ‘quartering’ rule. She eats only a quarter of the food on her plate, then waits 20 minutes before deciding whether she needs to eat again.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
