Dramatic dashcam footage has captured the horrifying moment a semitrailer rolled over after speeding around a tight bend on a highway. 

The video, which was recorded by an auto parts employee, was uploaded to the business' Facebook account Autopro Northam on Tuesday. 

Ashley Casey was driving back to Perth on the Great Eastern Highway after doing a spare parts run when he saw the truck roll onto its side near Wundowie.

In the video, Mr Casey's vehicle is seen travelling along the regional freeway, with only one other small car in front of him.

A semitrailer in the opposite lane passes by, as Mr Casey travels at a speed of 110km/h.

As Mr Casey's vehicle approaches a curve in the road, another semitrailer can be seen coming around the tight bend.

The video shows the semitrailer tilt to the side as it passes Mr Casey's car, before completely flipping its cargo, lifting the cabin's wheels off the road.

Mr Casey immediately slows down his vehicle - reflected by the onscreen data - and the smaller car's driver up ahead also appears to hit the breaks.

The video then shows Mr Casey turn his car around and head back towards the semitrailer, which was laying on its side.

As the auto shop employee approaches the semitrailer, smoke can be seen billowing out from underneath the cabin.

Mr Casey said he wasted no time rushing to the help the driver.

'Procedure mode kicked in from my SES training,' he told Perth Now.

He added, the truck driver was lucky to be able to walk free from the smashed up semi, before being given the all-clear by an off-duty medic who was passing by.
