New photo Manchester United suffer lowest Champions League turnout at Old Trafford in post-Fergie era

MANCHESTER UNITED’S draw with Valencia saw the lowest Champions League turnout at Old Trafford in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.

The Red Devils could not find a way past their Spanish opponents to make it four matches without a win for Jose Mourinho’s men.

But there was more bad news for United as photos showed there were plenty of empty seats on display at the Theatre of Dreams.

Many fans believe the time is right for Mourinho to pack his bags after serving up some drab football over the past few seasons.

And supporters appeared to vote with their feet as pictures revealed large gaps of red seats between disgruntled punters.

Old Trafford holds a whopping 74,994 chairs within its hallowed walls.

Official numbers from the club claimed there were 73,569 in attendance on Tuesday night.

But regardless of how many people actually were there, there was no doubt that Mourinho’s men marched off the pitch at full-time to a cacophony of boos from the irate home supporters.

United have now drawn two and lost two of their past four matches.

And with games against Newcastle, Chelsea and Juventus on the horizon, Mourinho will need to have a serious think about who deserves a place in his starting XI.
