"Many Photos" - Shocking stats show Gonzalo Higuain’s Chelsea struggles… as Alvaro Morata thrives at Atletico Madrid

GONZALO HIGUAIN has admitted he finds it difficult to adapt to English football – and his stats brutally prove it.

Meanwhile, Blues flop Alvaro Morata, 26, is rejuvenating his career on loan at Atletico Madrid.

Upon Higuain’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, Blues star Eden Hazard called the former Real Madrid and Napoli hitman an “assassin” and claimed Chelsea could now beat any team in the league.

It seems the Belgium international couldn’t have been more wrong, though.

The Juventus loanee, 31, was invisible AGAIN at Cardiff as Chelsea ground out a 2-1 win over the Prem strugglers on Sunday.

He recorded just three shots, none of them on target, and failed to create a single goal-scoring chance for his team-mates.

Higuain also touched the ball just 42 times, the fewest number – alongside Pedro – among outfield players who started that game.

As he is entering his third month at Stamford Bridge, his tally amounts to three goals in 11 games – scoring none since the 2-1 victory at Fulham on March 3.

Hardly a convincing effort for the heralded saviour of Maurizio Sarri’s side.

TELL ME MOR

Meanwhile in Madrid, Morata – who forced his move away from London after a fallout with the Italian coach – is thriving.

The Spaniard has scored in three of his last four La Liga appearances, racking up four goals for Rojiblancos in nine games.

He looked dangerous in the first leg of the Champions League tie against Juventus as he inspired Atletico to score two late goals after coming off the bench.

Not to mention that VAR denied him getting on the scoresheet himself.

In addition, the striker netted twice to secure a 2-0 win in Spain’s Euro 2020 qualifier over Malta during the international break.

In club football, the Atletico ace therefore bags a goal every 164 minutes – almost the same ratio as at Stamford Bridge before sealing his loan move to Spain.

Meanwhile, Higuain needs 283 minutes to score in a Blues shirt – a worse ratio than during the first half of the season he spent at AC Milan.

Sarri has revealed Higuain struggles to adapt to the Premier League – and it is brutally reflected in his stats.
