TWO Chelsea stars have been named in Uefa’s Team of the Year for 2018, with Mohamed Salah one notable snub.
As ever, La Liga stars dominate the list, with six current players in the XI, while the Premier League sees just three entrants.

GOALKEEPER
Marc-Andre ter Stegen
BARCELONA No1 Ter Stegen gets the nod in the Team of the Year.
The German stars beats competition from the likes of Alisson and Ederson for the crown after an impressive year.
Ter Stegen was picked in 30.4 per cent of the public’s teams at over 50,000 votes.
DEFENDERS
Sergio Ramos, Virgil van Dijk, Raphael Varane, Marcelo
MARCELO is the real star of Uefa’s back-four after racking up over 100,000 votes.
The left-back was named in 61.1 per cent of teams while Real Madrid team-mates Varane and Ramos both picked up over 75,000 votes.
Liverpool star Van Dijk is one of just three Premier League entrants in the squad, picked in 46.2 per cent of teams.

MIDFIELDERS
Luka Modric, N’Golo Kante, Eden Hazard
BALLON D’OR winner Modric was picked by more fans than any other player in the XI.
The Croatian star racked up over 115,000 votes – joined by Chelsea duo Kante and Hazard in a star-studded midfield.
The Blues pair were both named in over half of user-submitted teams at around 90,000 votes apiece.
FORWARDS
Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi
MBAPPE may be the player on everyone’s lips right now after an incredible 2018 saw him help fire France to World Cup glory.
But the Frenchman was picked in just 38.6 per cent of teams – with Ronaldo and Messi hogging the attacking votes.
Both stars picked up over 100,000 votes – named in nearly two-thirds of all teams.
