Britain will stay mainly dry and cold, with the chance of frost and fog on Friday morning.

The weekend looks to be cloudier and less chilly, with the chance of rain in the north by Sunday.

From Monday, most places are likely to stay dry but cloudy throughout the week.

In the northwest, there’s a chance of drizzle over the hills.

By the end of the week, wet and windy conditions are likely to dominate in the north, with a chance of snow.

From the 17 January, it’s likely to stay wet and windy for a while.

Towards the end of January, there’s a likely chance that colder weather will sneak in.
