New photo Scarlett Johansson says fighting ‘demeaning’ fake porn videos of her is a ‘useless pursuit’

HOLLYWOOD beauty Scarlett Johansson is giving up trying to ban her face being superimposed onto the bodies of porn stars in videos.

The actress’s face features in dozens of videos using artificial intelligence software, and she claims it is a “lost cause” trying to stop them being created.

One of the pornographic movies, falsely described as leaked footage of the star, has racked up over 1.5million views on a popular porn website.

Scarlett, 34, told The Washington Post: “Nothing can stop someone from cutting and pasting my image . . . and making it look as eerily realistic as desired.

“The fact is that trying to protect yourself from the internet and its depravity is basically a lost cause.”

There has been a rise in these “deepfake” videos, which often humiliate women, and Scarlett said there is an urgent need to protect vulnerable women and kids featured in them.

She said: “Clearly this doesn’t affect me as much because people assume it’s not actually me in a porno, however demeaning it is.”

Scarlett claims she has tried to take down offending videos and images in the past, but said it was an impossible battle.

She continued: “Even if you copyright pictures with your image that belong to you, the same copyright laws don’t apply overseas. I have sadly been down this road many, many times.”

The fact is that trying to protect yourself from the internet and its depravity is basically a lost cause.

Nude photos of Scarlett age 26 were leaked in the past, with the hacker sentenced to ten years in prison for the crime in 2011.

The images had been sent by Scarlett to her then-husband Ryan Reynolds.

Although this case saw some justice, stopping the creators of the deepfake videos has proved to be a less successful.

She added: “There are basically no rules on the internet because it is an abyss that remains virtually lawless . . . There are far more disturbing things on the dark web than this, sadly.”

Scarlett is one of the highest paid actresses on the big screen and has starred in blockbuster hits like The Avengers, Girl With A Pearl Earring and The Other Boleyn Girl.
