THE Royal Engineers are the biggest drug offenders in the military with 80 soldiers failing tests in a year.

Second place in the roll of shame goes to the Royal Logistics Corps, which had 60 failures.

The majority of soldiers failed their drug tests because traces of Class A substances were found in their samples

In third is the Royal Regiment of Artillery with 50 and fourth is the Royal Armoured Corps with 40.

Prince Harry’s old regiment the Household Cavalry, involved in a drug scandal in March, had ten troopers failing drugs tests in 2017.

The Ministry of Defence has not released figures for 2018 — but the Household Cavalry are expected to perform worse.

The Sun revealed 300 members of the regiment were drug-tested on a single day in March. Eight were positive for drugs including cocaine and MDMA.

The Foot Guards, the Queen’s favourite regiment which guards Buckingham Palace, had 30 drugs test failures in 2017.

Across the Army, Royal Navy, and RAF, 770 individuals registered positive for 830 drugs, with some having more than one failure. Most were for Class A substances. Thirty body­builders in the Army and RAF flunked tests for steroids.

The Army now has tough rules stating those that test positive will get the boot and be banned from rejoining.
