PIERS Morgan has clashed with Greggs over the introduction of their vegan sausage rolls.
The outspoken star, 53, hit out at the “pc-ravaged” snack after the popular bakery chain decided to extend their menu so that it catered to a wider audience.
The feud began when Greggs tweeted a video of their new offering, captioning the clip: “The wait is over… 3.1.19 #VeganSausageRoll”.
The Good Morning Britain presenter retweeted the message, adding: “Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns.”
However, Greggs expertly trolled the famous rent-a-gob, simply replying: “Oh hello Piers, we’ve been expecting you.”
Piers attempted to get one-up, replying: “Isn’t it time you changed your name to something more gender-fluid & less toxically masculine? [sic]” but it was too late – with Greggs’ tweet being retweeted and liked tens of thousands of times by impressed followers.
One praised the account’s take-down of Piers, writing: “I’m going to buy a Vegan sausage roll tomorrow for two reasons. 1. Your marketing team deserve it 2. To annoy Piers Morgan. What a great way to start 2019”.
Another responded: “The day that @GreggsOfficial destroyed @piersmorgan.
“A day no one expected but a day the world definitely needed #januaryblues #Winner”.
A third said: “Piers Morgan rushed to hospital with third degree burns from a Gregg’s vegan sausage roll!! Bravo Gregg’s Twitter people!!”
Many others vowed to buy one of the sausage rolls just to annoy Piers – who has ranted about veganism in the past.
He hit the headlines last month when he blasted three militant vegans who played slaughterhouse recordings in a Brighton steakhouse.
He had previously bet vegan journalist Liz Jones £1,000 that he will outlive her in spite of her diet.
Meanwhile, it wasn’t just Piers that Greggs hit back at on their Twitter page today.

The verified account had fun trolling critics for much of the day – when one customer expressed their disgust at the menu addition, the page replied: “That’s ok Jay, we won’t make you eat one.”
When another wrote: “Like eating dry sand”, Greggs retorted: “Have you eaten one, Lee?” alongside the thinking face.
The page was inundated with praise throughout the day – with many fans applauding Greggs’ “sassy” social media team.
