New photo Mum devastated after thieves raid baby girl’s nursery while she was giving BIRTH

A MUM was left devastated after thieves raided her baby girl’s nursery while she was giving birth.

When Claire, 33, went into labour with her husband James by her side, they had no idea valuables including their Waterford Crystal collection, cash and bottles in their daughter’s nursery were being pillaged from their home.

The mum today revealed how she was left sick knowing the thief had waited for her to leave for the hospital and for her mother to take their three-year-old son JJ out to lunch before turning over the Cambridgeshire home.

Claire said even her son’s toys, and her wedding and engagement rings had been taken after she left them at the family’s property before going to hospital.

Speaking to the Sun Online, she said: “Your home is your safe place and it’s a violation of that.

“Everyday, it plays on my mind.”

Claire said she had given birth to her little girl Tiffany Rose on April 21, 2017, with her husband even passing out after the arrival of their child from stress and exhaustion.

But it was when he headed back to the property in March, Cambridgeshire, that he found their front door swinging open.

Claire recounted: “Everything missing off the hallway table, all the valuable items were missing from the kitchen.

“My little boy’s bedroom was ransacked, with everything pulled out of the wardrobe.

“They even chucked the fruit out of the fruit bowl and took that.”

Other items nicked were the family’s carriage clock and some crystal candlestick holders.

Claire now has suspicions over who she believes took advantage of her family home – but says police have been unable to unearth enough evidence to charge anyone.

Luckily, the family had insurance, but estimated the total amount of stolen items amounted to around £6,000.

And she said the break in had traumatised her family, with her little boy hiding his toys every time they left the home to stop them from being stolen.

A Cambridgeshire Constabulary spokesperson said a man and woman were interviewed under caution, but no arrests made.

They said: “The case has been filed pending any fresh evidence coming to light.”
