New photo Meghan 'not a person you can actually be friends with' says TV insider

The Duchess of Sussex once held a 'Sayonara Zara' party to give away the high street clothes in her wardrobe to guests, it has been claimed.

Meghan Markle, 37, is said to have thrown the bash for friends when she became famous and wealthy enough as a TV actress to buy designer clothes.

The wife of Prince Harry made her first on screen appearance in General Hospital in 2002, but rose to fame after being cast as paralegal Rachel Zane in Suits in 2011.

A Hollywood source made the claims on the party in a Vanity Fair article, which also quoted a TV insider saying she was 'not a person you can actually be friends with'.

The insider, who claimed to be an acquaintance of Meghan, described her in the piece as 'the kind of person who wants to be friends with her stylist'.

They added: 'Meghan's goal was always becoming a household name. She's insanely smart and poised, but very, very guarded.

'She's not a person you can actually be friends with. She's the type of person who is best friends with her stylist.'

The magazine also claimed the Duchess threw a 'Sayonara Zara' party when she started to make it in Hollywood - giving away all her cheaper clothes to guests.

At the party, Meghan is said to have given revellers the old and inexpensive items in her closet to make room for newer and pricier options she could then afford as a better-known actress. 

Meghan was said to be well aware that her 'star was rising' after being cast as Rachel in the legal drama Suits in 2011.

And soon after the party, she enlisted the help of stylist best friend Jessica Mulroney to give her wardrobe a makeover.  

Meghan - who is pregnant with her and Harry's first baby - and Miss Mulroney sparked up a close friendship when the actress moved from Los Angeles to Toronto. 

Their friendship blossomed when the pair met on the set of Suits, which saw Meghan play the role of Rachel Zane in the series for six years. 

The pair's friendship has even seen them enjoy a holiday together in Italy back in 2016. 

It was previously reported Meghan enlisted the help and support of Jessica ahead of her wedding day, as she asked her pal to accompany her to bridal dress fittings.

A source previously described Jessica and Meghan's bond as more than a friendship, and has claimed Meghan has 'modelled' herself on the mother-of-three.

Speaking previously to The Mail On Sunday, a source said: 'Meghan adores Jessica, not just as a friend but also as someone whose taste and style are impeccable.

'Meghan looks up to Jessica and has, to a certain degree, modelled herself on her.'

Jessica even joined the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on their recent Royal Tour of New Zealand and Australia, where Meghan's two-week wardrobe was estimated to have cost a staggering £50,000.
