EMMANUEL Macron declared the EU would still not help revamp Theresa May’s Brexit deal despite last night’s huge defeat.

The French leader said Brussels would offer only “improvements on one or two things” and told Britain to “figure it out yourselves”.

Officials in Brussels indicated an emergency summit of EU leaders was now off the table due to the huge size of the defeat.

Germany’s Europe minister Michael Roth branded the result “a disaster”.

European Parliament’s Brexit chief Guy Verhofstadt accused British MPs of not knowing what they wanted.
