ANGIE Appleton could be making a shock return to Coronation Street sooner than anyone thought.
Actress Victoria Ekanoye – who played the accountant for 18 months in the ITV soap – left the show earlier this week but she’s now dropped a huge hint that viewers haven’t seen the last of Angie.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, she said: “I’ve honestly had the time of my life and I can’t believe it’s been 18 months, it’s felt like no time but I guess time flies when you’re having fun.
“There was a lot of stuff left unresolved and I may or may not be able to confirm those things,” she laughed while speaking at The Rocky Horror Show in Manchester’s Opera House.
“Adam’s going to go out to visit and Mary will because of the amazing connection she has made between Angie and George so we’ll see.”
Angie left the cobbles earlier this week in an low-key way when she said a brief goodbye to Mary Taylor before jumping in a cab and being driven away.
Her husband Jude had his final scenes last week when Mary discovered him still lying in Blackpool and pretending to be a surgeon called Ken Barlow.
Viewers couldn’t believe the brief scene and goodbye was all Angie got despite being a central part of the show for two years.
One fan tweeted: “Bye bye Angie. Sad to see you go. I was hoping you’d get cosy with Adam. #corrie”.
A second wrote: “They bought Angie a new case to make sure she goes #coronationstreet”.
Another added: “Aww so sorry we say goodbye to Angie from coronation street…all she needed was a decent storyline. Wish her well in all she does on her next journey!”
A fifth said: “Getting rid of characters like Angie, why? She had potential, far better than the deadwood the writers hold on to. #corrie”.

A sixth said: “As a character, Angie had miles more longevity than Jude ever had. It’s just a shame that Angie’s journey has ended way before it’s time. #Corrie”.
Another added: “Poor Mary @itvcorrie the Corrie writers give & then they take away Bye Angie & George xx @VictoriaEkanoye”.
