Drawing up a seating plan for a wedding reception can be one of the biggest headaches, but one bride-to-be has come up with a unique way to sidestep it - by making her guests complete a maths test.
A mathematician bride-to-be, believed to be from the UK, has revealed her wedding will be 'perfused with mathematical titbits' and that guests will have to solve a problem to find out where they sit.
Her Facebook post was shared on Reddit's bridezillas forum by user 'u/Lattesandthelaw' who accused the couple of 'math-shaming' and said they would RSVP no.
Other Reddit users were torn, with some seeing the tests as a cute way of the couple sharing their love for the subject, while others who felt it would cause guest unnecessary anxiety.

Writing on Facebook the bride-to-be said: 'Since both XXX and I are mathematicians, our wedding (which is coming up soon!) will be perfused with mathematical titbits.
'For example, at the dinner, guests will be required to answer a mathematical question in order to find out where they sit. Every guest/couple will be presented with a unique, bespoke question: its difficulty and subject matter drawn directly from what we know their mathematical background to be.
In fact a vary large number of our guests have research-level mathematical background, so for most of them their question has been drawn directly from research papers or thesis. It's been a rather consuming but entertaining process to look at all kinds of paper that I wouldn't ever normally look at. Like, for example, set theory!'
A flood of Reddit users revealed they would decline an invitation to a maths themed wedding, and joked they wouldn't be smart enough to be seated any where other than the kids table.
One person said: 'I am laughing because some of the questions have been 'drawn directly from their research papers or thesis.' If I was invited to this, I would have been stuck in the lobby drinking with the caterers. That is too smart for me.'
Another wrote: 'It does sound perfect for THEM but I would decline due to a very likely mathematically-induced anxiety attack.'

Speaking under the handle 'amongthesparrows', a user questioned the need to accuse the couple of 'maths-shaming'.
'So now math-shaming is a thing? When is everyone going to stop being offended about everything? If a couple want to celebrate their love for maths that's for them to decide, not anyone else.
'I'm sure the guests will be just fine but sounds like this couple should also be setting up a safe space for the sensitive sally's.'
Another added: 'This isn't bridezilla material. This sounds like someone actually going out of their way to make the wedding more enjoyable for the guests.
'This of thing should be celebrated, instead of being posted for ridicule.'
Others revealed they liked the bride's idea and believe the maths test doesn't seem like it has been designed to offend any of the guests
