MAGICIAN and James Bond star Ricky Jay has died of natural causes aged 72, according to reports.

The actor, best known for his card tricks, also starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in Tomorrow Never Dies.

Jay, once called ‘the most gifted sleight of hand artist alive’,  died on Saturday in Los Angeles.

His death was confirmed by his attorney Stan Coleman, according to Variety.

How I met your mother star Neil Patrick Harris paid tribute to Ricky shortly after news of his death broke.

He tweeted: “Master magician and historian Ricky Jay has passed away.

“The breadth of his knowledge and appreciation for magic and the allied arts was truly remarkable.

“Such sad news, such a profound loss.”

But he also worked in providing tricks to help films, like the adapted wheelchair that hid Gary Sinise’s legs in Forrest Gump.

His manager, Winston Simone, said: “He was one of a kind. We will never see the likes of him again.”
