New photo McDonald’s Christmas advert 2018 is ‘Reindeer Ready’ – and viewers reckon it’s better than John Lewis’s

MCDONALD’S fans have praised the fast-food retailer’s festive ad as “better than John Lewis'”, saying it gives them “all the feels”.

The advert sees Santa and his reindeer delivering presents on Christmas Eve to slumbering children.

But while Father Christmas enjoys tucking into the mince pies left out for him by families, Rudolph and his pals are saddened to find no carrots put out for them.

As each house flys by, the reindeer are left feeling more and more dejected at their lack of treats.

But when Santa spies a McDonald’s down on the street below, he hatches a plan and sneakily stocks up on bags of carrots from the fast-food retailer.

The reindeer are then delighted to see the crunchy treats hidden in Father Christmas’ present sack.

McDonald’s captions the advert with the slogan “Are you #ReindeerReady?”.

The fast-food retailer is more known for its burgers and fries than its vegetables but it’s trying to revamp its unhealthy image and carrots are just one of its healthy products.

You can order them as a side or swap them into a children’s Happy Meal instead of fries.

Plus, if you go into your local McDonald’s on Christmas Eve you can get a free packet of “Reindeer Treats” subject to availability.

And it seems viewers are loving the festive ad with some saying it’s their favourite Christmas ad so far this year.

One Twitter user wrote: “You win hands down for the Christmas 2018 advert! Very festive and I love it!”

Another commented: “Never thought I would say this but @McDonalds has the best Christmas advert this year bravo.”

Someone else cut right to the point and told Lewis: “Dear John Lewis, the McDonald’s advert just made me cry… McDonald’s. That’s how s*** your advert is this year. That is all.”

A different user added: “I’ve just seen the McDonald’s ad. Utterly brilliant! Really festive and very sweet. Unlike John Lewis’s pretentious nonsense. What a letdown this year. They really seem to have lost the plot as well as my custom.”

YOU’VE BEEN AD How much do you remember about these Xmas adverts? Probably less than you think!

Someone else tweeted: “Awww the McDonald’s Christmas advert is one of the best ones I’ve ever seen! Best once since the old Toys R Us Christmas advert! #ReindeerReady”

And one said: “Who needs @jlandpartners Christmas advert when we have got @AldiUK #KevinCarrot and @McDonalds Christmas ad?!”
