New photo 'Infuriated' Mark Zuckerberg told Facebook staff to only use Android after Apple CEO dissed him

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Apple CEO Time Cook are embroiled in a heated Silicon Valley feud.

The beef started earlier this year when Facebook came under fire for the Cambridge Analytica privacy scandal where up to 87million user profiles were unknowingly accessed for political reasons.

When asked about what advice he'd give to Zuckerberg, Cook said 'I wouldn't be in this situation' adding that Apple, unlike Facebook, does not 'traffic in your personal life' and 'privacy to us is a human right. It's a civil liberty.'

The comments 'infuriated' the Facebook founder who then ordered his management team to exclusively use Android phones arguing 'the operating system has far more users than Apple', insiders have revealed to the New York Times.

He fired back at Cook in April, calling the Apple CEO 'glib' for saying Facebook sells to advertisers while Apple sells products to users.

'You know, I find that argument, that if you’re not paying, that somehow we can’t care about you to be extremely glib. And not at all aligned with the truth,' Zuckerberg said to Vox

'The reality here is that if you wanna build a service that helps connect everyone in the world, then there are a lot of people who can’t afford to pay,' he said.

'And therefore, as with a lot of media, having an advertising-supported model is the only rational model that can support building this service to reach people,' he added.

After the scandal Zuckerberg testified before Congress and expanded his company's work with Definers Public Affairs, a right-wing consultant firm hired to monitor Facebook's press coverage. The group specializes in using political campaign tactics to corporate public relations.

After Cook threw jabs at Facebook, Zuckerberg ordered his management staff stop using iPhones and only use Android. There was also a spike in news coverage blasting Google and Apple linked to right-wing consultant firm Definers, which was paid by Facebook

Soon after, there was a spike in news coverage blasting Google and Apple for shady business practices on conservative news site NTK Network.

One story even slammed Cook as hypocritical for reproaching Facebook over the privacy scandal, adding that Apple too collects data from millions of users.

Yet another story tried to downplay the impact of Russian Kremlin-linked activity infiltrating Facebook around the time of the election.

Some articles also went after billionaire George Soros, who criticized Facebook as a 'menace' with 'neither the will nor inclination to protect society against the consequences of their actions' while speaking at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.

It turns out NTK is an affiliate of Definers and many of the stories on the site are written by staff members at Definers. Those stories are later picked up by conservative news sites like Breitbart.

After the Times published the story linking the connection between the two organizations, Facebook ended its relationship with Definers without citing a reason.

Zuckerberg hasn't commented on the Definers campaign or on his feud with Cook.
