CALIFORNIA’S deadliest wildfires have now left more than 600 people missing and 63 dead as rain is FINALLY forecast over Thanksgiving.

Body searching squads have been sifting through ruins as the infernos continue to obliterate vast tracts of the Golden State.

Authorities last night reported seven more fatalities from the blaze which started a week ago in the town of Paradise, northern California.

The number of missing has more than doubled from the original 297 listed earlier in the day, to 630 unaccounted for individuals.

Sheriff Kory Honea said the list would continue to fluctuate as people turn up safe or come to be identified among the dead.

President Donald Trump will travel to California on Saturday to meet with victims of the deadly wildfires that have scorched the state.

Hundreds have been made homeless after “devil winds” fanned rampaging fires which for the past week have been roaring over an astonishing 95,000 acres.

But the 800-strong army of fire-fighters could receive a helping hand thanks to rain in the early part of next week.

Yet Dr Joel N Myers, founder and president of AccuWeather, said: “While there is a chance for some meaningful rainfall next week, it is unlikely that we will see enough precipitation to end the fires across Southern California.

“There is a somewhat better chance for enough rainfall to diminish the fires in Northern California.”

The National Weather Service said the winds would slack off enough during the afternoon to allow firefighter to tackle raging fires.

But forecasters cautioned low humidity levels would keep danger levels elevated.

Downed power lines and blown transformers have been blamed for several of the deadly fires that have burned around the state in recent years.

A landowner near where the fire began said Pacific Gas & Electric Company notified her the day before the wildfire that crews needed to come onto her property because wires were sparking.
