To enjoy the free delivery all you need to do to is select the standard delivery option at check out and use promotional code FREEDELIVERY.

The deal applies to all products that are listed as “dispatched” or “fulfilled” by Amazon.

But there are also many other ways to find great discounts and bargains on Amazon – below we’ve made a round-up of the best ones.

Check whether you’re buying from Amazon or its Marketplace

If products say “sold by” someone other than Amazon, it means they’re sold via the Marketplace – a trader selling via Amazon.

Items bought from Amazon Marketplace are generally not eligible for free delivery, but you can usually get this on orders sold by Amazon costing more than £20.

Tool finds cheap items to help you hit £20 for free delivery

If an item costs under £20 and is from Amazon itself, you’re likely to be charged for the delivery cost.

But the delivery charges vary wildly, from 99p for products that can be delivered in envelopes to £4.49.

So sometimes it’s worth buying something small that costs less to take you over the £20 free delivery threshold.

To help with this, Supersaverdeliverytool.com scours Amazon for small filler items to bump up your order to £20.

All you need to do is enter your basket total and the website displays a list of items with prices close to the cost of the difference.

Get Amazon Prime for free

Amazon offers all customers one free one-month trial of Prime, which in turn gets you unlimited free one-day deliveries.

All you need to do is sign up, order, then just cancel the trial before Amazon charges you.

But remember to cancel the trial, or you’ll be have £79 taken from your account (or £7.99 if you selected monthly billing).

Double-check whether Amazon is offering a good deal

Before you buy any items on Amazon, copy the product’s URL and paste it into Camelcamelcamel to check the product’s price history.

The website charts Amazon price changes, meaning you can easily find out whether the product has been cheaper at other times of the year.

Get alerted when prices drop

Alternatively, you can use Zeezaw to find out when prices of particular products fall.

All you need to do to get the alerts is sign up, create a list with the maximum price you want to pay for Amazon items, and you’ll then receive emails when the price drops.

Buy goods on Amazon European sites

Buying from Amazon’s European sites as opposed to Amazon UK can sometimes be cheaper.

The tool Priceonline.eu checks prices across Amazon’s sites in France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

It also checks prices in the US, but if you pay from here, you may need to pay customs and consumer rights vary.

Trick to get extra digital credit for Prime members

Amazon Prime members can currently grab £1 digital credit (for movie streaming and Kindle e-books etc) on selected items costing £3 or more on Amazon.

The offer will show at check-out under delivery options if eligible.

You just need to choose the three-to-five day No Rush Delivery, instead of Prime members’ usual free one-day delivery, at checkout.

You only get £1 per transaction though, so if you’re buying a lot of items, split the orders and buy each thing that costs over £3 separately to maximise the deal.

By signing up to Amazon’s Subscribe & Save and selecting how regularly you want your products delivered, you automatically get 5 per cent off each order.

If you have five or more subscriptions, Amazon also boosts the discount to 15 per cent on all regular deliveries.

Students get six months’ free one-day delivery and video streaming

The Amazon Student club is the student version of Amazon Prime, and gives anyone above 18 years old, who are in higher education access to free one-day delivery, Amazon’s video and music streaming services and photo storage.

It usually costs £3.99 a month or £39 a year for a membership, but students can get a six-month trial free.

Just remember to cancel the free trial at the end of the six months, or you’ll be charged by Amazon.

Earn Amazon vouchers with credit cards

If you’re a frequent Amazon shopper, you’ll be delighted to hear that there are a couple of credit cards that can be swapped for Amazon vouchers.

The Amex Gold* credit card gives you 20,000 reward points if you spend £2,000+ on it within three months, enough for a £100 Amazon gift card.

It usually comes with a £140 annual fee, but this is waived in year one, so if you don’t want to pay, cancel before year two.

With the Amazon Platinum credit card, you get a £20 Amazon gift card when you become a cardholder for the first time, and then earn 1.5 Amazon Reward Points for every £2 you spend at Amazon.co.uk and one Amazon Reward Point for every £2 you spend elsewhere – 1,000 points can be exchanged for a £10 Amazon gift card.

Make sure you repay the debt every month or you’ll pay 22.9% interest (57.6% rep APR incl fee) with the Amex Gold or 21.94% interest (21.9% rep APR) with the Amazon Platinum, which’ll quickly wipe out the any money you’ve earned.
