New photo Tesco now sells Smarties and Celebrations advent calendars

3D advent calendars are rocketing in popularity this winter – and now Tesco has started selling Celebrations and Smarties versions.

Neither is especially cheap though – so if you’re not fussed about the 3D structure, you’re better off buying the chocolate in normal packaging.

The 3D calendars are available in Tesco stores now

Both calendars have been launched for the first time this year, exclusive to Tesco, and enable you to celebrate every day in December in the lead up to Christmas – really, who would say no to that?

Just like you would imagine, the Celebrations calendar contains a mix of Celebrations favourites but it costs £8 for 273g of chocolate.

This compares to a 240g tub of Celebrations, currently on sale in Tesco for £1.50, down from £3.

If you want more chocolate than that, you can pick up four such tubs for £5 in Morrisons – one normally costs £2 in the supermarket, giving you a £3 discount.

The Smarties calendar, which is shaped as a castle, contains mini boxes and chocolates of white and milk chocolate, but costs £10 for 227g.

This is in contrast to a Smarties carton of 100g – currently on sale for £1 in Tesco.

If you still want a Celebrations advent calendar though, Celebrations has also launched a more traditional version for the first time, and it weighs 230g.

This will hit shelves in all major supermarkets in November, although the company was unable to give any specific date.

It will set you back £2.79 per calendar though, which is still more expensive than the discounted tubs you get in Tesco.

There has been a boom in the launches of advent calendars lately and After Eight recently revealed its 3D calendar, shaped as Big Ben.

Reece’s is also doing advent calendars – but not just one, it’s actually doing two – and they look amazing.

If you want a twist to your traditional calendars, B&M has launched a festive gin calendar containing twelve different spirits.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”
