SOUTHAMPTON are facing a fight to keep hold of Enzo Robise – one of the most promising young players coming through the club’s system.
Saints snapped up the teenage winger when he impressed while playing for France under-17s.
And when he reached his 17th birthday the club were quick to tie him down to a professional contract which runs until 2021.
Since then he has gone on to make a huge impression at the South Coast club with a string of impressive displays in their development side.
That has led to Mark Hughes being made aware of his abilities, and there has been a feeling that he could even be drafted into the first team picture by the end of this season.
But his performances have also caught the eye of scouts from his native France, with several keeping a close eye on his progress.
Marseille and Lille are among the clubs who have shown a genuine interest in seeing if they can tempt him home.
And that is unwanted attention for Southampton who were hoping to be able to nurture Robise along at the right pace to ensure he was ready to make the step up.
They would be desperate to ensure that having worked hard to sign him in the first place, they do not lose him before he has fulfilled his potential.
But if one of the French sides came in and suggested an easier and quicker path to first team football, it may cause Saints problems.
