A TRAIL of motorists were left stranded today after filling up from a diesel tank containing water at a Tesco petrol station.
Police rushed to attend marooned cars after drivers used the faulty pump in Eastville, Bristol, early this morning.
Bemused motorist Safoor Malik posted videos on social media of the scene showing a number of cars and vans broken down on the forecourt as well as the roundabout next to the store and the road leading from the Tesco.
He warned customers: “Don’t fill up from Tesco in Eastville.
“Four cars are broken down, God knows how many there are more.”
A further video shows a crowd gathered on the forecourt, apparently waiting for their vehicles to be fixed.

Safoor can be heard saying: “Some of the cars have broken down on the motorway, some on the roundabouts – chaos.”
The video also shows police cars rushing to the scene in near darkness to attended the marooned cars.
Claire Downs’s husband was caught up in the chaos this morning.
“He put diesel in his van at 5am, then broke down on the roundabout,” she told the Sun Online.
The desperate motorist then had to be towed home before calling the RAC and getting towed again to the garage.
Claire added: “It’s a whole day messing about, and he still doesn’t know what damage has been done. He doesn’t have a van now and can’t work.”
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said they were called at 5.40am today to reports of a car broken down on the M32.

A Tesco spokesman dismissed earlier reports of diesel and petrol being mixed up at the station.
He told the Sun Online: “Our preliminary investigation has found water in the diesel at one of the storage tanks at our Bristol East Extra petrol station.
“The petrol station remains closed whilst we investigate the cause, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers.”
