New photo Brazilian presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro STABBED at rally… with horrific video capturing moment he was knifed

HORRIFIC footage has emerged of Brazilian presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro being STABBED during a campaign rally today.

Mr Bolsonaro was campaigning in the city of Juiz de Fora when he was stabbed in the abdomen as he was lifted above the crowd.

The far-right candidate, who had been gaining momentum in the country’s polls, is now recovering in hospital.

His son Flavio Bolsonaro tweeted that his father was not seriously wounded and is doing fine.

He said the wound “was superficial and he is okay.”

Mr Bolsonaro can be seen being held up by supporters and waving to the crowd when he suddenly clutches his abdomen and crumples, a pained look on his face.

Brazil’s O Globo newspaper reports that he was wearing a bullet-proof vest, but was wounded just below it.

Police say they had arrested a man who they say carried out the stabbing but do not yet know his identity.

Bolsonaro is second in the polls to ex-president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is barred from running due to a criminal conviction for corruption.

He has spent three decades in Congress and routinely says that Brazilian police should kill suspected drug traffickers and other criminals at will.

He has praised Brazil’s military dictatorship and said it should kill more people.
