TOTTENHAM’S injury crisis continues as youngster Luke Amos is ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.
The midfielder twisted his knee and was forced off during an Under-23’s match against Blackburn last week.
After the swelling had subsided, scans revealed Amos has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and will undergo surgery, says the Evening Standard.
The 21-year-old impressed during Spurs’ pre-season tour of the US, starting the friendlies against Roma, Barcelona and AC Milan.
His pre-season performances were rewarded with a senior debut from the bench on the opening day win at Newcastle in August.
With a host of players missing for tonight’s Champions League clash with Barcelona at Wembley, the midfielder could have been named in Mauricio Pochettino’s match-day squad.

Spurs are without Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele, Jan Vertonghen and Serge Aurier for the vital Group B game against Spanish giants.
The Premier League side cannot afford to lose against Barca after losing at Inter Milan last month.
And despite the long list of casualties, Pochettino insists he is focused on the players who are fit and available for selection.
He said: “We have players with different injuries – it’s not a pattern that happens from something specific.
“We are not victims, though. We must feel strong. Every player must feel they can win and achieve what we want.
“When you build a team and you have 24 or 25 players, all can be decisive, can be important.
“Of course I prefer to have all the players available to play but I’m not going to say we don’t have chances to win because it’s Barcelona.
“I am not the victim and I won’t be the victim in football or life if we don’t win then it’s because Barcelona were better.
“If we win it’s because we are a team, just with different names.”
