PIERS Morgan and Stephen Fry have led the celebrity tributes after the death of TV legend Denis Norden.
Dennis, 96, passed away at 3am this morning, his family confirmed.

Denis’ death has rocked the world of showbiz, with a string of stars taking to Twitter to pay their respects and share their memories.
Piers wrote: “RIP Denis Norden, 96. A wonderfully amusing man who made me laugh for 30 years. Thank you Denis.”
Stephen wrote: “A simply wonderful man. Kind, wise, funny, friendly and unassuming (with less reason to be so than most of us). So sorry he’s no longer in the world.”
ITV News presenter Nina Nannar wrote: “RIP Denis Norden. He had the most gorgeous drawly voice, so distinctive. I used to hope my TV mess ups would get on his show. I made it once!”

Sky’s Kay Burley simply wrote: “RIP Denis Norden. He was 96.”
Comedian Dave Gorman shared his favourite Denis Norden memory.
He wrote: “My fav It’ll Be Alright On The Night clip: a news reporter doing a piece to camera on a shopping centre escalator.
“Behind him, a shopper realises he’s caught on camera. He can’t go anywhere; he’s on an escalator. His awkwardness draws the eye. Especially as he is Denis Norden.”

Denis – famed for his dry delivery and iconic clipboard – spent “many weeks” at the Royal Free Hospital in north London.
His children, Nick and Maggie Norden, said in a statement: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the dedicated staff and doctors who have looked after him – with much devotion.
“A wonderful dad, a loving grandfather and great great-grandfather – he gave his laughter mongering to so many.
“He will be in our hearts forever.”
