DAVID PRICE faces Russia’s unbeaten Sergey Kuzmin (18-0) on the undercard of Anthony Joshua this weekend, who defends his heavyweight world titles against mandatory challenger, Alexander Povetkin.
Price carries a record of 22-4 with 18 big wins by knockout and has suffered defeats on four separate occasions; those came to Tony Thompson (twice), Christian Hammer and Anthony Joshua’s mandatory Povetkin.

Dating back to February 2013, the highly-regarded 2008 Olympic Gold medallist took his first loss at the hands of Tony Thompson, after the American knocked him out in the second round at the Echo Arena in Liverpool
Price called for a rematch and it was a similar story five months, later with Thompson beating Price once again in the fifth round.

Since then, Price has collected some solid wins, six fights unbeaten and against decent opposition, but the 6ft’8 specimen stepped up once more against former European champion Christian Hammer at the Olympia, London.
On the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s world title unification with former WBO champion Joseph Parker, Price faced avoided Russian, now mandatory to Joshua’s belts and No 3 ranked heavyweight in the world, Alexander Povetkin.

Povetkin was rocked in the fight after dropping Price earlier in the fight but was saved by the bell before knocking the 35-year-old out cold with a crushing left hook to the temple.
Kuzmin provides a real test for Price but with his profile and stock lifted after an exciting undercard fight with Povetkin in March, the Merseyside fighter wants to carry this momentum and big opportunity over the line Saturday night.
