"Many Photos" - Queen wants Sophie Wessex to be 'unofficial mentor' to Meghan Markle

The Queen has 'earmarked' Sophie Wessex to be an 'secret ally' to the Duchess of Sussex, new reports claim.

Sophie Wessex, 54, who is married to the Queen's youngest son, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, 55, lives at Bagshot Park in Surrey, with their two children James, Viscount Severn, 11, and Lady Louise Windsor, 15.

The pair live their lives largely out of the spotlight, and chose not to style their children as prince and princess, so they could live their life out of the public eye - much like Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, are keen to do with Archie.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live at Frogmore Cottage at Windsor Castle, a quieter option than Kensington Palace, and are keen to keep Master Archie out of the limelight, after opting not to give him the title of Prince.

It is thought this decision is partly down to Harry's complicated relationship with the paparazzi, following the death of his mother Diana - who was also keen to keep William and Harry's lives as private as possible.

Speaking to Grazia, a source said:  'The Queen likes the idea of Sophie being an unofficial mentor to Meghan.

'Sophie is often at Windsor taking the kids riding on the Queen's horses and playing at the castle.

'It's a quiet lifestyle, very much the kind Harry and Meghan want for their little one.'

According to the magazine, the two Duchesses get on particularly well, after spending time at Royal Ascot together last year.

The match is said to be a particularly ideal, as both women come from having successful careers, and are keen to raise their children private lives with a plethora of outdoor activities.

The monarch's reported plans to give Meghan a helping hand come after she has been continuously slammed at every turn, recently for wearing jeans during an appearance at Wimbledon, where her security was seen asking a bystander to stop taking pictures.

The former Suits star also appeared to take much of the public blame for what was reportedly Harry's wish to keep details around Archie's christening and godparents, private.

The couple also came under fire for revamping Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, gifted to them by the Queen.

Last year the Duchess appeared to have shouldered the blame for reported rift rumours between the Sussexes and the Cambridges, though further reports later emerged that the disagreement was more likely to have been between Prince William and Harry.

And despite Meghan's continued efforts to undertake charity work, even her move to include touching messages in care packages delivered to sex workers were slammed.

Meghan's recent appearance as a guest editor for Vogue came under fire, despite the Duchess producing an empowering cover promoting a number of good causes. Kate has previously appeared on the cover of Vogue, while William, Charles and Harry have also all tried their hand at guest editing

Even Meghan's efforts to boost morale among sex workers weren't good enough for some, with one slamming Meghan for the messages of inspiration on fruit during her visit to a Bristol charity in February

Fans have pointed out how Meghan appears unable to catch a break, with the Duchess being branded 'disrespectful' when she doesn't attend events, and 'attention-seeking' when she does.

Even her recent appearance as a guest editor for Vogue came under fire, despite the Duchess producing an empowering cover promoting a number of good causes.

Kate, Diana and Princess Anna all appeared on multiple covers of Vogue in the past, with Kate previously editing the Huffington Post, while William featured on the cover of Attitude magazine in 2016 , Charles guest edited Country Life and Harry guest edited the Today Programme.

However the Duchess has taken what some people have branded a hate campaign in good grace, and reportedly remains in good favour with those that matter - the Queen and the senior members of the royal family.

Last year royal insiders said that there has been no falling out between the Cambridges and the Sussexes, but admitted the pair are 'very different people'
