Emmerdale fans were left gutted when Ryan Hawley – aka Robert Sugden – announced he was quitting his role in the ITV soap.
Ryan, along with co-star Danny Miller, has won a legion of fans as one half of the couple Emmerdale fans have affectionately tagged Robron.
But with Robert set to leave screens before the end of the year, viewers want to know what his exit storyline will be – and if he’ll get revenge on the evil Lee Posner who raped his younger sister Victoria before he goes.
When a huge character like Robert leaves a huge soap like Emmerdale, no one is going to really know how the leaving storyline will go. All we know is that it will no doubt be massive.
ITV bosses have already hinted that Rob’s departure could be something to do with twisted rapist Lee, who he savagely attacked with a shovel on Tuesday night.
Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw revealed: “Robert is intent on getting his revenge at any cost, even if it kills him.
“Victoria’s evil rapist Lee is still pursuing her, so Victoria decides that the only way that she’s ever going to live happily and peacefully with the baby, is if she leaves the village forever.
“As her brother finds this out, he’s obviously devastated. He doesn’t want his sister to leave at all and as Lee piles the pressure on both of them, Robert is pushed to the very edge.”
Does this mean Robery will kill Lee?
Well, Robert – along with the other half of Robron, Aaron Dingle, and Victoria – were left floored during last night’s episode when two detectives arrived at the Woolpack.
They told Robert that Lee – who was rushed to hospital after Robert’s attack on him – was in a coma and might not ever wake up. Robert was shaken when the cops hinted that Rob would be looking at a murder charge if Lee didn’t come round.

Viewers are now convinced that Robert will be written out after being jailed for Lee’s death. One wrote: “Prison for Robert then 
Can’t say I blame him for that though!#emmerdale”
A second said: “So Robert’s going to prison…right?”
Another added: “So Robert is going to leave by either going on the run (like Andy) or he’ll go to prison for the death of Lee… #Emmerdale”
Robert went for Lee after he mocked him about raping his sister, laughing as he said ‘sometime no doesn’t really mean no’ and ‘your sister fought harder than this.’
