MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea target Mauro Icardi has “humiliated” Inter Milan, according to boss Luciano Spalletti.
The striker has not played for the club since February following a contract dispute which saw him stripped of the captaincy.
Icardi then refused to make himself available to play, citing a knee injury.
And he was absent yet again as Inter lost 1-0 to Lazio in Sunday’s Serie A clash at the San Siro.
Reports claim Icardi will leave in a big-money deal this summer.
Manchester United are believed to be interested in the superstar.
While Chelsea are keeping tabs despite being hit by a transfer ban.
Real Madrid have been linked with a big-money bid too.
But the whole saga has not reflected well on Icardi.
And manager Spalletti claims the Argentine has embarrassed the club with his shenanigans.
SPALL THE BEANS
Spalletti said: “To have to negotiate with a player to get him to play and wear the Inter shirt is humiliating, for the fans and his teammates.
“Do I have to email his lawyers before I can select him? Today, Icardi had to be left out because of the way he has behaved.
“It’s only fair that others play… it’s a question of credibility. The events have happened in front of everyone and are easy to interpret.
“You must have respect and the right behaviour in the dressing room. The coach must be credible and recognised as someone who will do the right thing.”
MAGIC WANDA
However, Icardi’s wife Wanda Nara claims her hubby is ready to be selected, instead blaming Spalletti for the situation.
Nara claimed: “Mauro is ready and it’s all down to the decision of the coach.
“It depends on how you look at the situation. Mauro hasn’t spoken yet, we haven’t heard his version. All Mauro is waiting for is to play.

“He had a television camera right in his face throughout the game. He was willing the team on and obviously cares a lot for his teammates, but he doesn’t need to say it out loud.

“A player like Mauro is accustomed to hearing a lot of chatter, but he focuses on playing, scoring goals and helping Inter.”
Chief executive Giueseppe Marotta also played down the incident, adding: “The reintegration of Icardi is taking place gradually. The coach has the right to choose who he works with and who is selected.
“The club always needs to hold a position of leadership and Spalletti has always worked in this way, thinking about the good of Inter.”
