DIY SOS viewers were left emotionally exhausted after seeing how the team altered a wheelchair-bound father's home so it could be accessible for him and his sons.
Darren Hudson, from Hessle, near Hull, had suffered back problems for years but was suddenly rushed to hospital with a devastating spinal cord injury that left him unable to walk.
After a stretch in hospital and three months of rehab he came home, but weeks later his wife Sarah was tragically found dead at home by her three sons.

Heartbroken, former roofer Darren was left to care for his son Harvey, 14, step-son Mike, 24, and severely-disabled adopted son Oliver, 17, on his own.
In desperate need of a wheelchair-accessible home, the DIY SOS team swooped in to save the day, with Darren unable to contain his emotions when the big reveal came.
As they watched Darren being close to tears as he saw the home for the first time, viewers took to Twitter to say how the family's plight had touched them
@megssssss said: 'The most heartbreaking story on DIY SOS I cannot stop sobbing. This family and the strength of them... my heart.

Tonight's episode of DIY SOS on BBC One reveals the tear-jerking moment Darren is shown his new home for the first time.
He said to the team: 'This is the next chapter for us. What you have done for us guys, it's our next chapter. It's the next step forward which is massive for us.
'Words don't even seem enough. I have been in there and I didn't even recognise my house. In fact it's not a house, you have brought the home back for us.
'I can actually get upstairs and it might seem nothing to you guys but to me it's everything.
Ex-roofer Darren (pictured), from Hessle, near Hull, was left in a wheelchair after a devastating spinal injury. The family suffered further trauma when his wife died and he was left the sole carer of his three boys. Tonight's episode of DIY SOS shows him overcome with emotion as his new home is revealed

'You have given me the full house back where I just had the downstairs for so long. It's something we needed so bad and it couldn't have come at a better time. It's amazing. Thank you so much.'
Presenter Nick Knowles asked him: 'And have the people here who have built the home for you - have they managed to combine a new start but with enough respect for the past?'
Mr Hudson replied: 'We have still got our memories, the memories are real, the memories will always be here.'
A BBC episode description reads: 'In this episode, aside from the usual emotion moments and build mayhem, Nick skillfully adjudicates between designer Oliver Heath and Julian over the landscape design, the DIY SOS team try out wheelchair rugby, and heavy rain threatens the newly laid resin paths.
The father-of-three looks upset as he tells his tragic story on camera
'Darren desperately needs an adapted home to care for himself - so he may care for his boys - and that’s where DIY SOS and their wonderful volunteers step in, to help this brave father.'
Mr Hudson was diagnosed with Cauda Equina Syndrome in 2017 and was rushed to hospital for surgery.
His adopted son Oliver suffers from a condition called hydrocephalus, which has left him brain damaged. He is unable to walk and talk and suffers regular seizures.
After Mr Hudson was left wheelchair-bound a local crowdfunding campaign raised more than £2,000 for a state-of-the-art chair for him.
DIY SOS: The Big Build is on BBC One tonight at 9pm.
