A SCHOOLBOY who has been teased for having the same surname as Donald Trump is the VIP guest at tonight’s State of the Union address.
Joshua Trump, 11, will attend the annual presidential speech from Capitol Hill – the home of US lawmakers.
The middle school student, from Wilmington, Vermont, was picked on by five boys at his school over his name.
His tormentors from Talley Middle School were disciplined in December.
Joshua’s mum Megan Trump Berto, told WPVI at the time: “They curse at him, they call him an idiot, they call him stupid.
“He said he hates himself, and he hates his last name, and he feels sad all the time, and he doesn’t want to live feeling like that anymore, and as a parent, that’s scary.”
Joshua was put forward for the honour of being among the 13 special guests by the Trump campaign’s Delaware chairman Rob Arlett.
Arlett told WHYY that bullying “should not — and it is not — a Republican issue. It is not a Democratic issue.
“It truly should be a humane issue.
“I believe as a Christian we are all true miracles from God and we all should be respectful of those miracles.”

Joshua and the other guests will attend to “represent the very best of America”, the White House said.
Trump himself has faced accusations of bullying by his critics.
Responding to that charge, Arlett added that there is “area for improvement” in the president’s behaviour.
He said: “I think that’s something that I would encourage him to continue to be a leader in, leading by example, and I think perhaps this is a move in the right direction, highlighting Joshua today as anti-bullying.”
OTHER VIP GUESTS
Joshua and the other guests will sit with first lady Melania Trump – who herself has campaigned against bullying – in the gallery tonight.
Also among the VIPs will be a woman freed from federal prison after Trump reduced her life sentence for drug offences.
Alice Marie Johnson, 63, served more than two decades before the president commuted her sentence last year.

Trump is expected to make a pitch to “unite” a divided America by focusing his speech on issues that can command broad support from Republicans and Democrats.
These issues include reducing prescription medication fees and infrastructure plans.
But he will also likely push for Congress to fund a border wall with Mexico – insisting that the issue represents a humanitarian and security crisis.
This is a message likely to ring hollow with Democrats determined to block his push for a wall.
