THE toy car found in the search for missing Ben Needham is NOT the missing toddler’s, DNA has revealed.
In a devastating blow to his family forensic experts have said the item found during a dig did not belong to the little boy.
Devastated mum Kerry, 44, told The Mirror: “Our 27 tears of slow torture goes on. It’s endless heartache and torment.”
“We had built ourselves up thinking it would be a positive result and would prove Ben had died.
“It would have given us closure and we would have been able to start the grieving process.”
She now says the family are left wondering if Ben is dead or alive.
Kerry has been searching for her son since the 21-month-old toddler vanished on the Greek island of Kos on July 24, 1991.
Ben was last seen playing near a farmhouse his grandparents were renovating.
She had said blood found on a sandal and toy car belonging to her missing son provided “conclusive evidence” he was killed 26 years ago.
The Matchbox car was unearthed in October in 2016 near the farmhouse where the family were staying.
Cops had said they were sure Ben was accidentally hit by a digger driven by builder Konstantinos “Dino” Barkas, who died in 2015.
A sandal was also found in 2012 at the site where Barkas worked, while the car was discovered at another spot.

Mr Barkas is believed to have died from stomach cancer in 2015.
Cops had said they believe Ben was accidentally hit by a digger driven by builder Barkas.
But there has been no sign of his body.
