NICK Knowles has overtaken Cheryl on the iTunes chart and soared to number one after Dec praised his music career on I’m A Celebrity.
Last night viewers heard the DIY SOS host tell his camp mates how he got a record deal after jamming with Biffy Clyro on a Soho rooftop.
Host Declan Donnelly then encouraged viewers to tweet the hashtag “Biffy Clyro Not Embarrassed They Jammed With Nick Knowles” to get the band trending – and just minutes later it happened.
By this morning, Nick’s cover of Make You Feel My Love from his 2017 album called Every Kind of People in 2017 was top of the charts.
Meanwhile Cheryl Tweedy’s comeback single Love Made Me Do It plunged to No48.
Radio X’s Chris Moyles helped to get Nick in the top ten by encouraging listeners to download his track.
He said on air this morning: “Now, should we just pick our favourite song off the album, and just get everybody to go on iTunes and buy it off the album, buy that one track off the album.
“But here’s what we do, we just say, look – this is not a Chris Moyles Show campaign, this is just a campaign to get Nick Knowles into the top 40.
“So it’s not just us, everyone can take part. Let’s see if we can get Nick Knowles into the chart…
“Someone’s texted in saying ‘imagine he gets back from the jungle and he’s got a top 10 single in the chart. Oh he’d be delighted, wouldn’t he?”
Last night, viewers’ hearts were melted by the 56-year-old who chivalrously donated his luxury item to Anne Hegerty.
He handed his pillow over to Anne after she’d broken down in tears admitting she was struggling with life in the jungle.
Charmed viewers wrote: “I love Nick Knowles. What a man.”
