New photo Moto2 star Romano Fenati set to return next season after being sacked for pulling rival rider’s brake at 135mph during race

DISGRACED Moto2 star Romano Fenati is set for a stunning return to Motosports next season with his former team the Marinelli Snipers.

He was initially given a two-race ban for the incident during the Misano Grand Prix – but was later stripped of his licence and it was extended to the rest of the season.

So despicable was his act of cheating that he was even hauled to court and fans called for him to be investigated for attempted murder.

The Huffington Post Italy reported that the 10-time grand-prix winner could of faced a charge of “Private Violence” – which carries a similar punishment to when a motorist cuts up another on the road.

But it now seems the driver is set for a incredible return to racing at the turn of the year.

Fenati will take-part in the Moto3 World Championship – a demotion from his previous level.

And according to Autosport, MV Agusta thought about reinstating his deal but signed Dominique Aegerter instead – before Marinelli Snipers made the call to bring back their driver.

He is set to return to racing alongside compatriot Toni Arbolino.

And when asked about his return to Moto3 rather than Moto 2 Marinelli Snipers tech chief said Mirko Cecchini he needs a fresh start.

Cecchini said: “It’s like he would like to start from zero. This is a new life for him, and OK, he did a mistake, a big mistake, but I think that the media have made it bigger than what he was deserving.

“So, we push together, to begin a new life, together.”
