MANCHESTER UNITED’S kids are being taught to reach for the stars . . . by a spaceman.

United called in Nasa astronaut Steve Swanson, who has spent 195 days in space, to speak to their academy players.

The 57-year-old told them of his experiences in space along with the importance of working as a team.

A source said: “Steve spoke about his own experiences and how important it was to all work together.

“The players seemed to be interested in what he had to say. Hopefully it will boost their hopes.”

Swanson, who is currently on a tour of the UK, took a Manchester United flag into orbit on the Inter-  national Space Station in 2014 after being persuaded by a Russian pal, Red Devils fan Alexey Yakovlev.

It weighed 85g and just crept under the American flight engineer’s “allowance” of 1.5kg.

The flag — which stayed in space for six months, orbiting Earth 2,704 times — was even given its own   certificate of authenticity  from Nasa confirming it travelled more than 71million miles at 17,500mph.

To achieve her kick-ass figure, Hayden – who plays cheerleader Claire Bennet in Heroes – follows the ‘quartering’ rule. She eats only a quarter of the food on her plate, then waits 20 minutes before deciding whether she needs to eat again.

Hayden says: “I don’t have a model’s body, but I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m OK with what I have.”

Nicollette says: “I don’t like diets – I see it, I eat it! I believe in eating healthily with lots of protein, vegetables and carbs to give you energy.”

Kim says: “I am no super-thin Hollywood actress. I am built for men who like women to look like women.”
