BOND star Pierce Brosnan looks shaken on his return to his torched Malibu home, as the California wildfires death toll hit 56.
Pierce, 65, put a hand to his head as he surveyed the damage. The actor was snapped returning to his Malibu neighbourhood after being evacuated by the choking flames.
The ex-Bond star looked to be in good spirits as he checked out his home with wife Keely Shaye Smith, 55, who wore a respirator mask so she wouldn’t breathe in any smoke.
Our map lays bare how the glamorous lives of celebs in Malibu went up in smoke after their sprawling homes were burned down in California’s worst ever wildfires.
Kim Basinger, Miley Cyrus, Neil Young, Robert Thicke and Gerard Butler are among hundreds of people affected by rampaging blazes. Movie star Kim Basinger was left reeling from losing her home in the vicious wildfires sweeping across California.
The LA Confidential actress, 64, saw her Malibu home incinerated by the out-of-control Woolsey Fire in southern California.
Ireland Baldwin, Basinger’s 23-year-old daughter, revealed the heartbreaking news about her mum’s mansion on Twitter.
She said: “So many friends and family of friends are losing everything they own in these fires. My mom and her partner lost their Malibu home in #Woolseyfire and thankfully they are both safe.”
Meanwhile Kim Kardashian West, Caitlyn Jenner, Will Smith and Lady Gaga were included in those forced to flee their homes as walls of flames closed in.
Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth shared a picture revealing the charred remains of the Malibu home he shared with his American popstar fiancee Miley Cyrus after it was almost entirely destroyed after fire scorched 150-square-miles of Southern California.
Hemsworth, 28, posted an image to Instagram of the blackened shell of the property, while also showing four letters spelling out “love” which managed to survive.
He wrote: “It’s been a heartbreaking few days. This is what’s left of my house. Love.”
Hemsworth continued: “Many people in Malibu and surrounding areas in California have lost their homes also and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by these fires.
“I spent the day in Malibu yesterday and it was amazing to see the community pulling together to help each other out in any way they can.”
In northern California, officials announced that the total killed in the Camp Fire blaze – the deadliest in the state’s history – had risen to 48. Authorities then reported eight more fatalities were discovered, bringing the total number of fatalities so far to 56.
More than 335sq miles have been burnt and 300,000 residents evacuated.
He added: “Malibu is a strong community and this event is only going to make it stronger.”
Cyrus, 25, revealed their home had burned to the ground on Sunday.
Last night the couple released a statement to announce they are donating £384,000 to The Malibu Foundation, through Cyrus’ The Happy Hippie Foundation.
The statement said: “Miley and Liam lost their home but are very grateful to be safe along with their animals. Their community and state are very special to them and they want to give back to the place that has created so many beautiful memories for themselves and others.
“These funds will be used for those in financial need, emergency relief assistance, community rebuilding, wildfire prevention and climate change resilience.”
Fire crews, aided by cooler weather and diminishing winds, have managed to slow the spread of the Camp Fire, which has now charred 210 square miles.
Aircraft, including 21 helicopters, have helped to halt the fire that destroyed 7,600 homes.
A message board at a shelter near the devastated town of Paradise is now filling with photos of the missing, as well as pleas for any information about relatives and friends.
