I’M A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Nick Knowles sent his estranged wife to the other side of the world at his own expense before entering the ITV jungle – after a string of furious public rows between them.
Jessica Rose Moor married the 56-year-old in 2012 before separating acrimoniously two years ago, leading to a major bust-up between the pair on social media.
The DIY SOS host has since claimed the duo are now back on good terms despite her finding love again, but sources close to the presenter say he was keen for her to be away during his time in the ITV jungle.
As a result he’s paid out for her to go with their son and her new partner to an exotic resort in the Indian ocean.
An insider said: “Nick and Jess are in a much better place than they were previously – the public rows have stopped and they’re staying on good terms, not least for the sake of their son.
“But the reality is he wanted her to be away while he’s on the show. He knew there would be lots of interest in him and didn’t want it all flaring up again with Jess when he’s stuck in the camp.

The couple’s acrimonious break-up saw Jess publicly accuse Nick of refusing to pay their son Eddie’s school fees, but the social media posts were later deleted and the couple resolved their dispute.
He was later seen dating again, including with Emmerdale actress Gemma Oaten, but is now single again after breaking up with his latest girlfriend Rebecca Kearns, 25.
Sources close to the presenter claim Nick was happy to pay towards the holiday because his son is also traveling.
