New photo I'm A Celebrity: Noel Edmonds and Nick Knowles are left squealing in terror

I'm A Celebrity's Noel Edmonds and Nick Knowles took part in Sunday's trial: Catch A Falling Star.

The duo were greeted by cheers from their fellow campmates when it was announced they would be taking part in the gravity-defying trial.

And Nick, 56, appeared confident as he headed to the Bush Telegraph: 'We’ll be alright. We’re going to smash this aren’t we?'

A less confident Noel, 69, replied: 'We’re going to be incredibly positive and incredibly successful but very quiet'.

The pair then left for the trial clearing and were met by Holly Willoughby and Declan Donnelly who explained to the pair that they would have to lie on their backs in a Perspex box suspended 20 metres above a lake.

The box contained two separate cages and once the time started they would be moved to different 'hell holes' each containing a star and a host of jungle critters for the celebrity on top to collect and then throw down to the second celebrity.

The pair had 11 minutes to collect 11 stars for meals for camp.

Noel offered to do the tricky hell hole part of the trial and be in the upper part of the cage so Nick would be underneath and catch the stars.

Before starting the trial Noel said: 'You have combined my two greatest fears – heights and confined spaces'.

With Nick agreeing his two greatest fears were also combined: 'One is heights and the other is working with Noel Edmonds'.

Teamwork: Once the time started they would be moved to different 'hell holes' each containing a star and a host of jungle critters for the celebrity on top to collect and throw down to the second celebrity

As they got into their boxes they were met with a host of friends as 30,000 cockroaches, 30,000 mealworms and 25,000 crickets were dropped on each of them.

At one point Nick dared look down and called up to Noel not to do the same: 'I’ve just looked down which was a very very bad idea'.

Noel managed to collect two stars from the first hell hole containing mealworms, one of which Nick caught and the second was lost to the lake below them.

The second hole contained cockroaches but were lost by Nick who dropped them again.

The duo met green ants in the third hole which caused Noel to joke: 'Something like the people who voted for me to do this. It doesn’t like me'.

Nick caught the second of the stars as Noel faced scorpions in hole four, one of which was caught by his teammate.

The final box contained three stars guarded by giant huntsman spiders, of which the pair successfully collected two.

Nick and Noel left the bush clearing with five stars meaning five meals for camp.

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here continues on Monday 26th November at 9pm on ITV.
