Bringing circus mice with them so Dumbo has company, Milly (Nico Parker) says: 'Welcome baby Dumbo, we’re all family here no matter how small.'

It then shows the moment the children discover he can fly, as he accidentally breathes in a feather and sneezes so violently that he launches into the air.

Presenting the many attractions that the circus has to offer, Michael Keaton's V.A. Vandevere can be heard telling Danny DeVito's Max Medici: 'You have something very rare, you have wonder, you have mystique, you have magic.'

Emotional:  While the film is a loose adaptation of the 1941 animation, Dumbo is seen in clown make-up, apparently being ostracised from his fellow elephants as he was in the Disney classic

Before he adds: 'Come with me, together we can soar off that elephant’s wings.'

The trailer then recreates the heart-breaking moment the flying elephant is ripped away from his mother's side, as she is taken away in a cage.

Milly begs her father Holt (Colin Farrell) for answers, as she implores: 'What’s happening, where are they taking her?'

He tells them to take Dumbo back inside, but her brother Joe (Finley Hobbins) cuts in: 'But she’s his mum, do something!'

But Milly won't let things stand, as she promises the little elephant: 'We’re going to bring your mum home.'

The clip also dives into the dark and glimmering spectacular that is the world of Dreamland - the name of the film's circus setting.

While the film is intended to be a loose adaptation of the 1941 animation, Dumbo is seen in clown make-up, apparently being ostracised from his fellow elephants as he was in the Disney classic.

French trapeze artist Colette Marchant (Eva Green) is then seen telling Holt, 'Your children need you to believe in them.'

The trailer soon descends into chaos, as the circus is seen engulfed in flames, while Holt rides in on a horse desperate to save someone.

It then ends with the moment Dumbo steps out onto a platform with his trusty 'magic feather', before taking flight in the circus tent as Milly encourages him: 'You can do it Dumbo, show them. Fly dumbo, fly.'

Following on from re-makes of Cinderella, Maleficent, Jungle Book, and Beauty and the Beast, Disney's latest live-action offering is set to be released in March 2019.

Tim Burton's frequent collaborator Danny Elfman is on board to do the soundtrack for the film.

It is based upon a storyline written by Helen Aberson and is a full-length adaptation of Walt Disney's 1941 animated film of the same name written by Otto Englander, Joe Grant, and Dick Huemer.
