CORRIE teen Amy Barlow is set to drop a New Year bombshell with an underage pregnancy.
I can reveal that the 14-year-old will then face the option of an abortion — ramping up the tension between her parents Steve and Tracy even further.
Amy, played by Elle Mulvaney, will echo scenes of Sarah Platt’s pregnancy aged just 13, back in 2000.
A TV source said: “Amy is seen sobbing her heart out, asking her granny Liz to help.
“Steve finds a pregnancy kit and tells Tracy about it and they both lose their rag. Tracy says she wants to kill the baby’s father.
“They demand an abortion and Amy agrees but changes her mind at the 11th hour.”
The storyline is one of a host of miserable plots ahead, including a boat blaze which endangers Peter Barlow’s life and a “grim” ending teased for Lewis Archer.
I hope they fit in some light relief too.
CLARE BALDING’s self-titled chat show on BT Sport has been binned after five years, I can reveal.
Bosses blamed the move on the presenter’s busy schedule but a channel spokesman said: “She will continue to feature in a range of our programming, including hosting the BT Sport Action Woman Awards next month.”
Love’s on carpet
LOVE Island winners Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer have landed a new prize – presenting red carpet coverage of the National Television Awards.
The lovebirds said: “Last year we were at home on the sofa watching the show, so it’s an honour to be involved.”
The bash takes place on January 22 at London’s O2.

Sitting downer
TONY ROBINSON risked the curse of the mummy after accidentally sitting on an ancient corpse during a trip to Egypt for Channel 5.
The mishap occurred while the Blackadder legend was in a desert interviewing an archaeologist for docu Egyptian Tomb Hunting, which screens tomorrow at 9pm.
In an exclusive interview Tony said: “There was a load of sand and what looked to me like a little black rock.
“So I sat down to interview the archaeologist.
“He said, ‘Oh by the way you do realise you’re sitting on a mummy?’ F*** me, if you’ll excuse the expression.”
However, the mummy appeared to get its revenge when an underground tomb began flooding while Tony was filming inside it.
Luckily, he’s alive to tell the tale – unlike the mummy.
