She admitted to 'falling out of love' with Lachlan Gillespie long before announcing their marriage split last month. 

And during an interview with ABC's Australian Story set to air on Monday night, The Wiggles' Emma Watkins insisted she is still on good terms with her estranged husband.

'A lot of people have said to us that they just can't see how it can be so amicable. But truly, Lachy and I, we just get each other,' said the 28-year-old children's entertainer.

Emma told ABC journalist Greg Hassall that, despite the marriage breakdown, the former couple remain supportive of one another.

'Just because we're not romantically together anymore doesn't mean we're not together for the rest of our lives. I feel really lucky to have him supporting me through the whole thing, which sounds bizarre, but this is our life and we are so connected,' she said.

She added that keeping busy throughout the break-up has proved a blessing.

Earlier this month, Emma told The Daily Telegraph that she 'fell out of love' with her husband-of-two-years before they decided to call it quits.

The redhead also confirmed that she was the one who initiated the separation.

'We are not really cranky at each other, we just realised that our situation had changed... probably more from me, than from him,' she said.

Emma and Lachlan, 32, announced their shock split on August 3.

They actually broke up earlier this year, with Lachlan moving out of the pair's marital home in Sydney when they commenced a 'trial separation' in February.

Meanwhile, Emma recently said she has no intention of dating again anytime soon.

She told The Daily Telegraph earlier this month: 'I am too busy and too tired to date.  We just have our eyes on the tour ahead.'
